IT'S MY BIRTHDAY WEEEEEEEKEND!
The premier of Doctor Who, kayaking, cooking dinner, bowling, getting my hair cut. I'm pretty much in heaven.

(how sweet!)
Birthday data.

A beautiful fall post.

TRUTH.

Check out this sick routine.

These backpacks kill me.

More teal options.

20% one item this weekend!

When fall gets here I want this blanket to keep my toesies warm.

Dingo says have a great weekend!

Cute friend.

This is my friend Hayleypants.
I love her.
And this photo... isn't she cuuuuute?!?! Her eyes make me laugh (that's the face she makes when I tell a lame joke). And this is us at camp with a camper (who is my brother's girlfriend's cousin) trying to make pooping faces. We were really good at the noises which would make us laugh really hard which was kinda the point. One really cool thing about being a nurse is that it's hard to be shocked and so people will talk to you about things that embarrass them comfortably. Everyday at work I go through a pre-chemo assessment and the first thing I ask people is if they are constipated or have diarrhea. I have the best job. It's like it was hand picked for me.

29.8.12

Nanas' birthday.

Three separate thoughts.

1. Ha! It's our birthdays!!! I got a sweet frame (read: bright red heart) with a glam shot of Bon Jovi in it and it sits on my desk at work and I talk to it. Not weird. Sometimes I sing his songs to it...

2. Crazy day at work yesterday. Crazy crazy. Yesterday morning I started swimming at the high school by my house! It's nice to mix up exercise you know?

3. I've been thinking about my girlfriends this week.
I miss them.
I love my family but sometimes you want to giggle with girls your own age about boys you know?

28.8.12

Teal.

(none of these are mine, from misc places on the interwebs)

I started a teal project and now I'm sad I only have one. There are so many fun options! Like do you keep it classy with white OR modern with black and white OR nautical with navy and white OR trendy with coral and gold? It's going to be a tough choice. I cannot wait to figure it out.

I totally won't though. I'll end up asking Joshua and he'll help. Or the people I'm making it for...

26.8.12

Birthday beginnings.

I had a surprise birthday party yesterday, me and Nana. I'm sure there are pictures but I was too busy eating chocolate cake with whipped cream frosting and fresh strawberries to notice.
Took a wonderful nap after eating (the best!) and then went to devo with the teenagers.
Also I got $20 and now I have a serious dilemma: which Doctor Who shirt do I buy!!?!?

Ahhh! I just love them both so much.
I'm glad that my biggest problem is clothing right now.
Thank you Jesus.

24.8.12

Gangnam style.

I have never been more thankful to have a friend from Korea than today when he posted this on facebook. LOVE IT!

Dark flowers.

Forgive me for a boring Friday?
Kthanks.
I'm starting volunteering today and then I'm going to Goodwill and the post office and then girls movie night... and laundry and cleaning my bedroom somewhere in there! Golly, days off are way crazier than working. This weekend is Nana's (I've started calling Hannah Nana because I can also go by Nana and then we have the same name. It's so fun... because dumb things are fun when you do them with two year olds. I have no explanation.) second birthday party and my fall cleaning weekend (hopefully). Life is pretty uneventful in my neck of the woods!

In other news:

Love them.
I am totally drawn to dark spaces and dark paintings.

22.8.12

Life, crafting, etc.

I think I want to learn how to knit.
Translation: I want someone to knit several things for me.

I'm going to make my uncle a Rams blanket for Christmas and I think I might start it now since I have no one else to create for! The air turned today and it makes me feel like something cozy. Maybe a fleece blanket with crocheted edges like this baby blanket? But with Rams fleece... I think that will do nicely.

Doing something productive with my hands makes me feel accomplished especially after a rough week at work. One nice thing about work is that even terrible days aren't so terrible. People snap at you, but it's understandable yeah? Their lives are tipped up and shook about. And the staff who work with them every day do their best to live in that reality with them and sometimes they lose their cool. I don't know, for the first time I feel very centered about work and life balance (it's my first job where I haven't been a full time student as well) and I think it shows in my attitude about work. Maybe I'll feel differently in a year but so far, even with a bad day yesterday, I love it.

Also I've branched out in Matt Redmand land (I find the chorus incredibly compelling).

21.8.12

Book club reboot.

Wow that was a good start!
I devoured this book on our camping trip, I woke up earlier than everyone the first morning and dove right in! I'd recommend it 100%. I was completely entranced the entire time.

16.8.12

WEEEEEKEND COMES EARLY!!!

I promise my whole life isn't vacation.
Just last week, this weekend, and labor day (yikes)!
I'm camping by a lake with my family and I'm sure I'm having a good time!

This is the best bit of time ever, and here's why:

15.8.12

STUFF.

Okay, I've had this huge paradigm shift and I'm not even sure if I know what happened enough to share it correctly.
I've completely become disgusted with owning actual movies.
WEIRD!

I just felt something comforting in owning a hard copy of movie you know? But I own an external hard drive and if I was that paranoid how hard would it be to own two and keep one out of the house? Which I am... anyway. I don't know if I'll ever buy a movie again. I realized I never watch movies on the tv anymore and my laptop plugs into the tv anyway. And think of all that space streamlined! I view them as knick knacks now.
Who knows if it will last but I'm embracing it while it's here!
Also, can't give up paper copies of books (so it's probably good I've given up movies as I'll need the room)!

Three movies I want to own.

14.8.12

Tuesdays.

Sometimes I feel gushy about my Joshua.
Like right now.

After he wrote this.

In other news it's been hot as hades.
Yuck.
I'm lucky to work in a cool building with big sunny windows, it's the best of both worlds! Work today, tomorrow, and then camping with the family....

13.8.12

Fredo! You broke my heart!

How great is this pillow?
Yesterday Joshua and I made a birthday box for a friend and he'd never seen the Godfather (weird right?)! It got me thinking, I just knew someone had to have made a horse head pillow, and they had!!!!

Success.
I'm not a knick knack person, but wouldn't a horse head pillow be such a fun gift?!
And it could get passed around.... oh the possibilities!

10.8.12

MISC.

Last day of camp of the last camp of the year for me. Tomorrow I'm going home, hemming my scrubs, seeing the new Bourne movie, and catching up on a week of Olympics. This is a great summer!! And I just realized something amazing: after the Olympics end (I don't want to talk about it) Premier Leauge begins! Something to ease the separation. I'm watching the women's medley swim team win the gold and claim a new World Record, it's like sports overload right now and I'm in Heaven. What a convoluted paragraph. Next week, back to real life (until I leave Thursday to go camping).

(from the Seattle's Great Wheel)

I want to do lunch with friends!

I know there is plenty to say about Phelps, but I love him.

Anther thing in the Olympics that makes me cry. We're watching history.

Another shoe option.

Went to Seattle last weekend, saw some more gorgeous marimekko fabrics.

Have you seen these girls?

9.8.12

It's Superhero month in Savannahville.

I saw Spiderman in a theater that smelled musty and was inhabited by my mother, myself, and no one else. Still pretty entertaining. It was half action hero movie, half indie romance with Emma Stone. What's not to like?

7.8.12

The concert.

Pat and Journey.
I would write a paragraph about how great the show was and how all I've sung in two weeks is them and how I'm pretty sure I'll never see another show that great but I'll just show you the photos and call it even.

6.8.12

Blanket, realized.

I could never have dreamed of a baby looking as sweet in this blanket as Eli.
I love him.

3.8.12

MISC.

Do you ever have weeks that leave you breathless? I managed a date to pub trivia with Joshua in all the chaos though (because nothing should trump date night).

This picture is a little blurry but I love it so much anyway because it's a 15 hour old baby snuggling with me yesterday. Want to know something amazing about babies that always makes me teary when I'm holding a newborn? The most in-focus distance that a baby can see from is about a foot. You know what a baby sees best? His parent's faces when they nurse or hold him. Isn't that perfect?! His two year old sister (you know her) and I played body parts with him: I touched his belly button then she did, then we each touched our own. Then noses then hands... it's funny how there's always room for one more in your heart. I hope your weekend is full of people you love as well!

What a creative theme!

Is anyone else obsessed with organizing? I read these types of things all the time! For fun!

How about budgeting? I nerd so hard on numbers (Confession: I have made mock budgets for the paycheck I get tomorrow... five times. Just for fun.).

This song has been stuck in my head all week! And the Olympics music...

Denmark seems so appealing.

My friend recommended Walgreen's neon polish. I'll bite...

My flag cake recipe.

I think this is oddly classy for Forever 21. I love it.

2.8.12

Spoiled.

Aren't these gorgeous! I wish I was a better photographer (or lived with one) so that you could love these flowers like I have for the last two weeks.

1.8.12

24, it's coming!

My birthday is one month away! Yahoo!
My birthday wishes seem to get more simple every year: fun experiences and splurgy basics. Like expensive shampoo. My mom got a sample at one of her races and it was magical! I loved it. And it smells so fresh! Anyway.... on to the list.

(Tom's book, Ben Howard tickets to see him in Seattle, Satin hands, Hangers, White headphones, Stamps, tea tree shampoo, Hall and Oates greatest hits)

And of course a Doctor Who shirt.
