A patient of mine had this awesome bag today and I'm sorely tempted to get one as my to-and-from work tote. It's naughty! But it's pretty much how we all feel about cancer. Today was a great day to be an oncology nurse... lots of time to assess and just sit with patients and check in with their lives and listen to their symptoms (because everyone has something) and give reassurance and a boost.
Some days it feels like your whole job is to push fluids and keep patients quiet until they leave. It's an untruth grown with stress and heavy workloads. But not today!
