MISC.

So here I am watching the finale of AHS:Asylum and being horridly ill. Does there have to be more news? Lila Nana and I cuddled for breakfast over Memorial Day. It was adorable.

Sparkling drink recipe.

World Cup of Fashion!

I think I'm going to try one of these silk tops for summer.

Astronaut.

It's happening so soooooooon! Also Joshua and I cannot stop watching this- we have one episode left!

This book might be heartbreaking.

And a Miley cover.

Wedding weekend.

It was so lovely to be at a wedding with everyone I love. I keep staring at this photo- I think this will be one that makes me happy forever, reminds me of the warmth of the wooden stairs and the warmth of our family. We might not all look alike (although Joshua and Michelle are often mistaken for siblings) but we are the happiest coziest family there ever was.

Also Jarrod and Katrina were so beautiful and happy and smiley.

MISC.

I've never been more ready for Friday.
Haircut and brows and dresses and shoes and crafting tomorrow... wedding madness is upon us!
But seriously, longest week ever. EVER.

(found here)

Okay Madewell, quit bragging about your great style. We know.

Ben and Beyonce! Finally. In preparation for the concert we just bought tickets to.

I'm thinking these shoes for the wedding, but in white or brown? So many decisions.

Baller.

CPR. With Vinnie Jones. I think yes.

Cutest kid room.

Angst gets the bathroom clean.

So clean.

My mom works out her troubles on a long slow run. Not so for me. I throw things away and scrub toilets and mop floors and scrub the problem into a nice shine. It doesn't always solve things but at least at the end the house is clean. Do you have those frenetic moments where your anxiety or sadness or worry comes out in bursts of energy? Like it cannot be contained in your spirit. It is easy for me to see the correlation (in healthcare and in my own life) between emotional and physical health. It's important to find a balance there.

In family news, Roo is getting a belly after her spaying and it's the best. So cute and chubs.
And I saw Patricia (because her real friends call her that) Benatar last night. FANTASTIC.
Joshua lets me put my cold hands on him at night and we both lather up in Bag Balm to combat the dryness around here.

My favorite. Today at least.

21.4.14

BBC.

I use my ten minute break at work every day to read the BBC online. And then The Onion, if I don't have ten minutes worth of reading to do. But I juuuuust loooooooooove it so much. Everyone at work makes fun of me and says the news is worthless- then I get home and Joshua reminds me that they are ridiculous. I do not read the news to myself with a precise accent like people who speak the news on BBC world report. I do.
Why am I posting this? I have no idea.

100 things.

Space.

And Nick Cage.

20.4.14

Missing Museums.

I think it's probably time to convince Joshua to go on a date to the museum... perhaps the Louvre? But not until summer when she's back open. Just kidding, because we are doing important but boring things  with our money. But one day!

(The most magical place in the Louvre)

Renovations- SF MOMA too? Hopefully an exhibit will be open in the city while we are there in June! Luckily their online store is still selling nightlights and prints and more prints and piggy banks cast from a real pig that died of natural causes. Weird.

PAM is always a good option though. And so close to friends.

Or you can lust over MOMA (clocks and watches and expensive radios) although I imagine there's not a time of day that's not crowded there. I love empty museums. We had this golden moment in the Louvre when I was with my mom and it was just us, just for a moment. It was quiet and dimly lit and perfect. I think it's time to reacquaint myself with a museum, any museum.

15.4.14

Hair.

I'm trying to grow out my hair long enough to pull this off in three weeks. Biotin all day! I guess we see how it goes... right now I do a lot of weird behind the ear tucking as it grows but it's fun to try new things without worry. If it's really bad I tell people I shaved in solidarity with my patients and try again in a couple weeks.

Our babies, as babies.

Last night both of these ladies curled up on our bed and slept with us!
It was precious. And slightly crowded.

24.3.14

I'm thinking-

Asymmetric ombre hair and art deco ears.
You know, for everyday wear.

Also, does anyone pencil their eyebrows?

9.3.14

Shower curtain.

Am I the only person who didn't know that society 6 makes shower curtains now? We've had a Sam Flores curtain since I got it or Joshua for Christmas in OKC but it's plastic and a huge pain to wash. I think it's time to move on!
I really dig these options but secretly I think I always truly want a full length curtain.

26.2.14

Babies.

A cropped sweater and moccs. I think my babies are set.

24.2.14

Wallpaper.

I've been kind of obsessed with it.

Especially seagulls. Because who doesn't like seagulls? When we get a house it will be my one big splurge (you know, and a hanging chair and a Corey Arnold).

25.12.13

!

On Christmas Eve we ate a cutting boards worth of cheese and meat and lingonberry sparkling drink, put on our matching pajamas, opened one present and watched Superman (Joshua put together his Ninja Turtle legos). And then the four of us kids slept in the living room- Katrina kicked Joshua is the face all night and Jarrod woke us all up at 0500. So we had the perfect setup to Christmas morning!

Between a Will the Thrill jersey, a gorgeous Kate Spade, and a Pendleton for the mom (who's always wanted one and couldn't stop smiling when she opened it) and all the paper everywhere making kitten look insane it was a wonderful day! It's cheesy but true: family is the nicest present of all to have on Christmas.

And finally kitten fell exhausted into a bag and napped.

10.12.13

Christmas tree!

We picked a Christmas tree! With our friends Cody and Tiffany and my parents- a triple date for trees! Tiffany took these photos (the same Tiffany and Cody of my brother's engagement photos) and I love them. Do I associate evergreens with winter because of Christmas trees or because they are the only color left in the grey PNW or just right now since these photos?

Also. Bison sweater.

8.12.13

Wintertime.

It's winter so we bought some flannel sheets that Roo likes to snuggle in and we went to Seattle to watch the snow fall at the mall. And saw Hunger Games. In other news we've hung our stockings with care and decorated our little tree and purchased a moose cookie cutter. That's all. This week it's sewing kitten a stocking and doing the very last bit of shopping (even when you're done there are just so many good gifts out there)!

29.11.13

CUUUUUUTE!

I love how these photos could have come straight out of the seventies. Such a sweet engagement set! We chose a tiny Blue Spruce today and I wore my new bison sweater from Black Friday (ohboy!). It's been a lovely  Thanksgiving weekend.

24.11.13

I say bison you say buffalo.

I have been enchanted by two animals for the last few (5) years: bison and otters. I mean seriously, who doesn't find otters to be perfection? I can't explain the bison bit as neatly. I just think they're great.

These bison photos are great- I love the baby! It looks like snuggle time if snuggle time were an animal.

Giant prints of bison.

Two more!

I have this sweet bison over the mantle, I think he needs a friend.

21.11.13

WNWR: husband.

Oh man! Our first married Christmas and our first Christmas hosting Christmas (I think everyone is going to curl up in our tiny apartment so we can wake up together)! Oh man. It's going to be great. Just like being married. Do you ever look over in bed and feel like it's crazy how lucky you've been? Joshua is better than ice cream and the perfect nap. I love present shopping for him! But I also get weirdly anxious that presents won't be perfect. It's ridiculous I know.

Who doesn't want to go see a taping of Ellen? We spend more time watching Ellen videos than doing anything else on the internet around here. And Joshua can dance. He was made for Ellen!!!

He definitely needs some wool socks to help combat winter in our frigid apartment! I love this simple old design.

A classic apron (I think he probably is tired of wearing my girly lace one).

A memoir.

20.11.13

MISC

Joshua and I had date night tonight. Thermals, wool socks, steaks and The Internship. Now it's off to bed. I live the perfect life of a grandmother! I made a list of the last seven things we need to finish Christmas today and we bought cloves to try out clementine clove whatevers... Christmas is coming. Get ready.
Also I don't want to find a photo. I'm saving energy for Christmas.

Ellen underoos.

Happy otters!

Animals at Arsenal.

Refined space.

11.11.13

WNWR: sister.

I held off as long as I could. I promise. But Walking Dead is sucking all the joy out of itself (although I don't think I ever actually enjoy the season when it's on...) so I need something positive! And what is more positive than Christmas? Nothing!!!

I've just moved past Jarrod and Katrina not being married and don't even bother with that "my brother's girlfriend" business. She's my sister. Things about Katrina: she loves kitties, she is all about the outdoors and fun northwest foods (read: she and Joshua talk about oysters while Jarrod and I gag), and she loves concerts and the summertime. She's basically rad x a million. Also we just saw this musical at the 5th Ave and it was a blast! To cement sisterhood we napped on the couch yesterday afternoon. That is all.

I know it's terrible to give someone a pet, but seriously- this is ten minutes of craigslist. There is no resisting. If she really wanted one absolutely we'd buy her a kitten.

And she definitely needs a teddy for her honeymoon at some young person music festival.

Catalope leggings? I think yes! Wear has never looked so fake. Or cute.

If you have to cook, better do it GOT style! Poor Katrina, I don't watch Game of Thrones so she has to try to explain approximately 1,000 characters to me each time she talks about it. I think this will be ten times faster to read than one of the actual books.
