WNWR: Brother.

I think my brother is the hardest person in the family to shop for. But somehow this year I finished him up earlier than everyone else! I can't explain it. It was Christmas magic.

This is the only thing Jarrod asked for this Christmas. No joke. SO....

A handsome bag to replace the backpack that he totes. I consider this a need.

The best plaid I've seen all fall.

NPR recommended it and I don't read much science fiction. I'll trust NPR.

WNWR: Mama.

Apparently I talk about my mom all the time. To everyone. Work knows my best friend is my mom. Dolores (the nice old lady we play cards with) knows my mom and I are best friends. It's pretty great until I want to punch her when we are walking at the Y and we get in a fight. But after that it's pretty great. Yes. I love my mom. And even these not real but really great presents are getting me excited for her real presents!
Enough already.

A cooking class in Poulsbo, because experiences are the best gifts.

A pot rack- for ease of making delicious soups and more room to sit on her counters and talk.

A poncho, because being cozy and adorable in the winter is possible. Also good for the zombie apocalypse.

The best book I've read all year. I would have given a copy to everyone I know if I thought they would read it!

WNWR: Husband.

Christmas shopping for Joshua is my favorite. Seriously. I wish I had a million dollars to buy him all the ridiculous things I want to. But that pesky Mr. Ramsey bums out that plan (debt free is so enticing and a present in itself) so I'll stick with a couple smart choices!

A trip to the City by the Bay. And a trolley ride where you ride on the outside (he's crazy brave).

They're not glamorous but most things you need aren't. Keep those feet toasty!

A sweater to keep warm. And to brag.

WNWR: Sister.

I know. But we have a candle called spice cupboard (which I highly recommend) and it's freezing at night and that's all it takes for me to jump on board the Christmas train! Wooh wooh! Trains in the station and I have a ticket!

Lovely Sam Smith to croon with on the way to work. I would want this if I didn't have it already.

Postcards, needed to keep in touch with friends in Sequim.

A colorful scarf to wear in winter from FashionABLE.

Because everyone loves her and they like her. Read more books.

WNWR: husband.

Oh man! Our first married Christmas and our first Christmas hosting Christmas (I think everyone is going to curl up in our tiny apartment so we can wake up together)! Oh man. It's going to be great. Just like being married. Do you ever look over in bed and feel like it's crazy how lucky you've been? Joshua is better than ice cream and the perfect nap. I love present shopping for him! But I also get weirdly anxious that presents won't be perfect. It's ridiculous I know.

Who doesn't want to go see a taping of Ellen? We spend more time watching Ellen videos than doing anything else on the internet around here. And Joshua can dance. He was made for Ellen!!!

He definitely needs some wool socks to help combat winter in our frigid apartment! I love this simple old design.

A classic apron (I think he probably is tired of wearing my girly lace one).

A memoir.

WNWR: sister.

I held off as long as I could. I promise. But Walking Dead is sucking all the joy out of itself (although I don't think I ever actually enjoy the season when it's on...) so I need something positive! And what is more positive than Christmas? Nothing!!!

I've just moved past Jarrod and Katrina not being married and don't even bother with that "my brother's girlfriend" business. She's my sister. Things about Katrina: she loves kitties, she is all about the outdoors and fun northwest foods (read: she and Joshua talk about oysters while Jarrod and I gag), and she loves concerts and the summertime. She's basically rad x a million. Also we just saw this musical at the 5th Ave and it was a blast! To cement sisterhood we napped on the couch yesterday afternoon. That is all.

I know it's terrible to give someone a pet, but seriously- this is ten minutes of craigslist. There is no resisting. If she really wanted one absolutely we'd buy her a kitten.

And she definitely needs a teddy for her honeymoon at some young person music festival.

Catalope leggings? I think yes! Wear has never looked so fake. Or cute.

If you have to cook, better do it GOT style! Poor Katrina, I don't watch Game of Thrones so she has to try to explain approximately 1,000 characters to me each time she talks about it. I think this will be ten times faster to read than one of the actual books.

WANT NEED WEAR READ.

Anyone else have a mom that's the bees knees?
My mom is into experiences so her presents this year from me aren't quite this tangible (we're going to dinner and a couple of other secret presents), but if she wanted things this is what I'd get her.

A framed copy of her favorite photo from Europe- people should have pretty photos of themselves in their homes don't you think?

Need? Definitely a netflix subscription, so she can watch Sons of Anarchy and Burn Notice whenever she feels like it (and maybe a copy of Hamlet to go along with SOA...)

A warm blanket to snuggle with late at night while watching Netflix.

A book that's an experience! So good, so good for you!

WANT NEED WEAR READ

I have this pretty great boyfriend.
Who deserves a pretty great gift for Christmas! Josh is always the easiest person for me to shop for- maybe because I know him so well. I think I've got some gift for his type nailed down solid.

Like a trip to Disneyland (this year we're going in April instead but it would still be a wonderful Christmas present), which is never complete without Mickey ears!

Tools to make perfect fried eggs to top engrish ruffrins (as he always says it)! Because lets face it, he doesn't really NEED anything.

HOT briefs aren't just for ladies (although with so much thigh showing this would really be a gift for me if he had to fashion show them). Or a warm scarf.

It's supposed to be a Coen brothers film on paper. Perfect.

WANT NEED WEAR READ.

I'm humming Christmas carols at work- it's time. It's time!
I like the idea of paring down Christmas and giving experiences.
Or just paring down, because I don't think I'll ever be able to give up wrapping and giving presents!!

First for my brother, who has given me some wonderful presents (like my panther candle which has guarded over me since college, and a scarf that still smells like the markets of Amsterdam). I think I'd edit it for him though, because wear and need are definitely the same for him. Maybe I'd get him something to eat? I think yes.

Bacon and chocolate. Okay. Yes.

A waterproof jacket for work.

A classic science fiction story.

Duh. What every boy in my life wants.
